The BARMER 2. Basketball Bundesliga and Sportdeutschland.TV are continuing their long-standing and successful partnership. DOSB New Media GmbH, operator of the online sports channel Sportdeutschland.TV, and 2. Basketball-Bundesliga GmbH have signed a contract for further seasons, starting with the 2025/2026 season.

The contract extension significantly expands the scope of the partnership: Starting next season, not only will all ProA games be broadcast live and on demand on Sportdeutschland.TV, but so will all ProB games. The league will thus offer comprehensive streaming on a central platform and a common home for all basketball fans.

As part of the further development of the media offering, the broadcast of ProA games will be subject to a fee starting in the 2025/2026 season. The decision to introduce a pay-per-view model is based on the goal of further improving the quality of the broadcasts, implementing new editorial formats, and at the same time creating an economically viable basis for the long-term development of the digital offering. Details on prices and subscription models will be announced shortly.

The extension of the partnership marks a decisive step in the digital transformation of basketball in Germany. The complete integration of both leagues on one platform not only creates a unique streaming offering for all fans – it is also a clear commitment by both partners to innovation, growth, and sustainable professionalization. The close cooperation between the league, clubs, and platform creates the basis for tapping into new target groups, strengthening the media presence of the locations, and making basketball even more visible across all levels.
