Sportdeutschland.TV is expanding its pay-per-view offering in ice hockey thanks to its distribution partnership with Sky. From the 2024/25 season on, Sky Sport's live broadcasts of the National Hockey League (NHL) will be shown on Sportdeutschland.TV as a pay-per-view offer. Hans Gabbe, Senior Vice President Sports Rights & Commercialization at Sky Deutschland: “With this fantastic agreement with DOSB New Media GmbH, we are strengthening our valuable live sports offering and emphasize our position of Sky Sport Tennis as a ‘must have’ for every tennis fan. In addition to the ATP and WTA Tour, we will be showing the US Open in the future - the tennis community will thus be able to experience all the major tennis highlights on Sky until the end of the year - there has never been more live tennis on Sky. We are also making our live NHL broadcasts available as pay-per-views for the first time and extending our streaming offer to another high-reach ice hockey platform."
Björn Beinhauer, CEO of DOSB New Media: “I am delighted that we have been able to win Sky Deutschland as the next major player for a strategic partnership. We complement each other perfectly when it comes to US Open tennis and the NHL. With our pay-per-view and streaming pass model, we bring the absolute stars such as Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev at the US Open, as well as Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid in the NHL, easily into fans' living rooms and onto their mobile devices. Our flexible offer is becoming increasingly popular and we are very proud that we can offer this now for the NHL in addition to the DEL (1st German National Ice Hockey League), DEL2 (2nd German National Ice Hockey League), the Champions Hockey League and the Ice Hockey World Championship.
