Sportdeutschland.TV and SportA extend sublicense agreement – The media future of top-class sport in Germany is further strengthened
An important partnership in German sport is entering its next phase: DOSB New Media GmbH, the company behind the Sportdeutschland.TV platform, and SportA, the sports rights agency of ARD and ZDF, have extended their cooperation on a long-term basis by means of a sublicense agreement, thereby sending a strong signal for the promotion of top-class sport in Germany. The continuation of this successful partnership means that Sportdeutschland.TV will remain the central platform for 33 leading German top-class sports associations and their sports.
With the contract extension, Sportdeutschland.TV will continue to serve as the digital home for a wide range of sports and offer their associations the opportunity to make their competitions and events accessible to a broad audience. The platform has established itself in recent years as an indispensable destination for sports fans and offers innovative solutions for broadcasting sporting events that meet the requirements of a modern, digital-savvy target group.
Björn Beinhauer, CEO of DOSB New Media GmbH, explains: “The continuation of our partnership with SportA is another milestone for Sportdeutschland.TV and, above all, for German elite sport. We are proud to remain the home of 33 elite sports associations and to continue shaping the digital future of sport together with our partners. This extended partnership will enable us to inspire even more people to take up sport, offer them high-quality content, and increase the visibility of German top-class sport in the long term.”
Thanks to the contract extension, sports fans will continue to enjoy exclusive access to a wide range of top-class events from a variety of sports – from Olympic preparations to German, European, and world championships.
Sportdeutschland.TV relies on state-of-the-art technology and innovative broadcasting formats that are available not only on the platform itself, but also on mobile devices and smart TVs. The extended partnership marks another step in the successful development of Sportdeutschland.TV as one of the leading digital platforms in the sports sector and underscores the commitment to promoting and strengthening sports in Germany in the long term.
As usual, ARD, ZDF, and the ARD's third channels will continue to have the option of reporting on the events in the same way as Sportdeutschland.TV, in the form of live broadcasts or highlights.
About Sportdeutschland.TV: Sportdeutschland.TV (www.Sportdeutschland.TV) is the sports streaming platform for everything from popular and amateur sport to top international sport. Live broadcasts and on-demand content from over 70 sports, together with major national and international events, various national leagues as well as highlights, summaries and background reports, make up a unique package. With the Sportdeutschland.TV platform, DOSB New Media GmbH stands for diversity, innovation and participation in sport.
